Welcome

Share is an open jam, not just for digirati, but for all new culture lovers. Participants bring their portable equipment, plug into our system, improvise on each others' signal and perform live audio and video.
Would-be participants are encouraged to bring any portable equipment they like to plug-in for open jams - not only laptops, but drum machines and grooveboxes, keyboards, gameboys, guitar pedals, cassette decks, circuits, microphones, projectors, lightboxes, LEDs etc. We furnish the amplification and projection.
Sessions are open to any and all, and everyone is encouraged to share ideas and give feedback, creating an open and constructive atmosphere: a sound workshop where people can trade, talk and listen. SHARE reflects a new sociology of performance by creating a participant-centered event.
Share welcomes walk-in performers, offering an open-mixer system for video and audio that allows participants patch their equipment into the multi-channel system, allowing everyone to contribute.
***Currently, ShareSD, the 3rd node of the now 17 node (and growing!) global network is currently on hiatus until further notice. ShareSD is in need of a few dedicated folk to start up again! If you are interested in helping out with this effort, contact Morgan Sully at morgan [at] memeshift [dot] com. OR you can check out the official Share DIY page here. Community Artist Profile #3: Louis Haiman a.k.a. fwdthought
I first met Louis Haiman in August of 2005. I had just moved to San Diego and was looking to connect with other electronic musicians. In getting my musico-cultural bearings, I decided to use a website called meetup.com, to initiate a meeting of other like-minded folk. Our first meetup had a grand total of ONE electronic music fan (plus me). Louis was that fan. Little did I know what friendship, camaraderie and mentorship would come from that initial meeting. It is with great joy that I present to ShareSD readers this 3rd Community Artist Profile.-MS
Community Artist Profile #2: David Sarrazin a.k.a. Disrupter

When I first moved to San Diego, I wanted to start a 'meetup' of musicians into electronic music. David was one of the first people I connected with. David had been producing music for a number of years with various instruments in the MidWest with an early incarnation of Savage Aural Hotbed. Since moving to San Diego, David has been involved extensively with ShareSD as well as performing both locally and and across the border with ShareSD's friends from the BrokenBeat Network. I was able to chat with David this past week about his processes, Ableton Live setups, and his transition from hardware to software...

Share: One Year Strong
FREEZING cold here in San Diego. Undaunted, the Share crew celebrated it's one year anniversary with an evening of noise, happenstance, new friends, vintage gear and new software. Graced by the prescence of members of Trummerflora, Broken Beat along with the Share SD crew the evenings sonic sculptures ranged from Klaus Schulz/ John Cage inspired industrial drone to Eno-esque dreamscapes to Krafwerkian robotics.
